2012 Winter Classes at The Mud Shack:

Pottery: Hand to Wheel
Intro to the Pottery Wheel for Adults | ages 16+

THURSDAY CLASS IN MARCH 2012 IS FULL.
We have openings for Mondays in March, 6:30-8:30pm  (3/5/12 through 3/26/12)

Sessions begin the first Monday of each month and run for 4 weeks

Come out and give it a try with our experienced instructors at The Mud Shack. For all skill levels  – first timers and seasoned potters welcome!  Our small class setting will help you learn new skills or expand on those you already know.  In your first class you will learn to make cups and bowls, and then you’ll refine your talent to make lidded jars, vases and pitchers.

4-week session- $110, includes instruction, one 25lb bag of clay & kiln firings. 5 hours of studio time outside of scheduled class are also built-in the cost of the class. Studio hours expire 3 weeks after your final class.

One-time pottery wheel classes are also available by appointment only.  Classes are one and half hours long.  Ages 7+.

1 person: $90/each
2 people: $45/each
3 to 5 people: $30/each

Price includes: instruction, clay and kiln firings.  You may choose to paint your pottery the same day with our clay-based-paints, if your class is finished before our closing time.  You may also choose to come back after your pieces have been bisque fired, usually about 7-10 days later, and paint with our full range of colors for only $7.50/person (recommended method.)

Art to Wear: Glass Jewelry Sets

Wednesday, 2/22/12, 6-7:15 Parent/Child, Class fee is $16 per parent and one child, each additional child $12.  Supply Fee: $30 payable to instructor-- this fee will cover parent & one child, each additional child’s supply fee is $20. 

Wednesday, 2/22/12, 7:30-9 Adult (Age 16+), Class fee is $16/person.  Supply fee: $30/person

In this one-time workshop, we’ll show you how to make a one-of-a-kind fused glass jewelry set – a pendant, pair of earrings, and a ring.  Your instructor will explain how to cut glass and lay out your design working with stringers, noodles and specialty glass. Projects will be fired in our kilns at The Mud Shack and available within two weeks. Children must be 8 years or older.  Specialty glass available at an extra charge.

Mud 101 - After-School Clay Class | Ages 6+

Animals In Art: Multimedia After-School Kid's Class | Ages 6+

Thursdays, February 2-23, 4:30-6:00pm

$110 + tax – 4 Classes

This after-school kids class series is all about animals!  Each week we'll try a different medium -- clay sculpting, the pottery wheel, fused glass and pottery painting  -- all related to animals.  We'll take a look at famous artists and how they used animal imagery in their work.

Mommy & Me | 2 ½ - 6 years old

This class is designed for mom (or dad!) to assist and spend time with their little one while they create an age-appropriate project. First we’ll read a story, and then we’ll do a project that relates to the book!
